Registration to HCR and Training Program Update and New Diet

Today, I registered me and my husband to the next HCR 2015 half marathon which is next May. So now I have again target which I need to run forward. Then I updated my training program and diet again here.

I have successfully finished my GoJuttaGo meals in two days now. My diet didn't change a lot because I have already get used to vegetables and protein. Now there is only berries in the diet among the vegetables I eat next to a lunch and a dinner, so I may start to miss fruits soon. And because I've preferred morning eating my whole life and the big breakfast is not weird thing, I feel hungry before lunch. On the other hand in the evening it feels that I'm eating all the time and my stomach is full before the next food. And my head is so full of ideas at the moment how to variate the meals that I could cook all the time. And thus, I'm not very worried yet, that will I succeed with the new diet..

Bicycle Ergometer Test

Today it was time to try bicycle ergometer test for the first time of my life. I have always had very high maximum heart rate and have always been a bit worried that do I run my basic exercises with right heart rates. Couple of weeks ago I saw advertisement of the test on Facebook page of the gym nearhood where the equipment was hired and I decided to use the opportunity to try it.

At first I had to fill in  the initial information sheet and convince that I'm in good condition to do the test. Then my heart pressure was measured and then I get permission to jump on the bicycle. The test lasts for 10 to 20 minutes depending how good shape you are. First I warmed up couple of minutes and when it was time to start the test my heart rate was already over 130. The resistance was added every 2 minutes and the heart rate was measured all the time. It was weird that it didn't feel that bad as I thought before because it was only my legs that did the work. So even if I ended the test with maximum heart rate of 199 it didn't feel as bad as burned or mountain climbing I do with my whole body during the home training sessions.

In the end I got detailed information about my condition and heart rate levels. My VO2max value is 34 which is average condition level of the ladies of my age. I got advice to do my basic exercises with 129-149 heart rate. This far I have run with 120-140, or preferably under 130 so even if my basic condition is still bad, I could, at least in theory, add my tempo a bit. And my exercises could contain intervals where my heart rate is between 159-179.

I recommend the ergometer tests to anyone who is concerned of the own heart rate and wants to know own personal heart rate levels. Hopefully, I have change to try the test again sometimes next year to check my progress especially with the low heart rates.

Breaking the Records Part 3

It's time to recall again my proceeding in the fitness tests and home training sessions. So here comes Breaking the Records Part 3. The first and the second parts are done in March and in June.

One Leg Squats

My record of one leg squats is 22 with both legs. In the beginning of the project I couldn't do any, and in June my record was 15.


High-knees

High-knees means three drills of 30 seconds high-knee running with 30 seconds break in between. My best result in high knee running is 88, 89 and 92 and 99 is the record if only the best 30 seconds drill is counted.


Burbee

At first I couldn't do any Burpees properly but nowadays I can do all repetitions of the drill correctly by jumping back to push-up position and back. In the beginning I had to step back and step to return.


Men's push-ups

My record of the men's pushups is now ten. I could do more but I'm afraid to break my back so I haven't dare to do more.

Back to Normal Weight and 10 Men's Push-ups

I have again achieved my normal weight since I got weigh-in result of 72 kilogrammes today and my BMI is now under 25 which means normal weight.

In addition it was time to do fitness test and I could do 10 men's push-ups and 21 one leg squats with my both legs. I felt a bit tired before the test but I exceeded all my expectations and improved the result in most of the fields which have felt difficult lately. Fitness Score is now 64 and Athleticism Score is 46. And more detailed..

I haven't tried it earlier but now there is equipment in the gym nearhood so I decided to try.

Autumn Vacation and Diet Plans

Our girls are having their autumn vacation this week and it's so hard to follow my diet now when the house is full of yelling and arguing kids. Actually I'm eating as before but I forget half of the snacks and then I get mad because I'm over hungry. In addition we had birthday parties last weekend and the fridge was full of cakes and delicacies which were left from the parties. 

I have now exercised already twice this week and last weekend's running I also did on Monday. And my mum looked after all of the three kids then and we ran together with my husband. I think we went running together last time about two kids ago. It was nice to notice that we actually ran together and my husband could ran next to me when the speed wasn't too low anymore.

I haven't breastfed anymore for about two weeks now and I could really speed up my diet now. I have planned to stop eating all the candy and delicacies until Christmas and try to tighten my diet still. My finnish readers have heard about GoJuttaGo diet and that is what I'm going to follow now till the end of the project. Because I'm eating already lots of vegetables and protein, for me it basically mean that I still check the fat I get to the lower level. And instead of milk protein and meat I'd like to modify the diet a little bit with more soya and vegetables.

I guess the conclusion of my writing is that I'm still able to reach my goal to fit into my wedding dress before Christmas..

Proper Exercising

Wow, I have exercised properly again and it feels so good. On Sunday I went for a 90 minutes run. I ran over 8 kilometres and I forgot the heart rate checking and changed speed with the feeling and music I had with me after a long period of silent exercising. Running was nice after a longer pause and my leg muscles were sore on Monday due to the speedy route I did.

And yesterday I made aerobic session of my Nike+ Kinect Training program and it was harder than I recalled. I have done only muscle trainings since I started to prepare myself for the September's half marathon. My three year old daughter exercised with me in her ballerina suite. I think I should try the ballerina suite too because it seemed so much easier to do Burpees and mountain climbing in it. She is going to gymnastics weekly and has been thrilled of the home training since she started. Yesterday she was doing the exercise after her own gymnastics glass and today she has been quite tired due to double exercise she did.

I myself was able to do two drills of Burpees properly and my star jump obviously looks like star jump 'cause the personal trainer didn't have to remind me to jump higher this time at all! Maybe I have got stronger muscles since I did star jumps last time even if the cardio workout itself was hard.

All the time I have had outside the training sessions I've been preparing of the double birthday we have soon. It's nice that the kids have birthdays in the same week. Mum is tired.

Rainy Day of October

It was so nice to spend the rainy day by doing muscle training and spending time in the pool in the baby swimming with my lovely son. He loves when I blow to the water and tries to do the same. We did many successful divings which was nice because I was a bit afraid we can't dive anymore because we have had two longer breaks due to the flus he has had.

OK, and I walked outdoors couple of kilometres before it started to rain, and to snow
also.

Silence, Chocolate, Exercising and Surviving

I've been lazy to update the blog lately. I just feel that there is nothing new going on in the project.

I'd love to have candy, and chocolate, and chips, and... And this feeling has been lasting now a week now. I think it's because I've been tired and on the other hand I haven't done very many hard exercises after the half marathon, which makes me to want candy. Still, I've been walking and running but only with the kids.

But I'm going to be again more active now on. I did fitness test today to create new training program (and could do 20 one leg squats with both sides!!!) and planned to do exercises with Nike+ Kinect Training twice a week and then 90 minutes running once a week. I forget the heart rate monitor and all the plans now until I begin to prepare for the challenges of next summer. But I've got good running condition during this year so now I want to keep it up that I don't have to start again from the beginning then. Other exercising I try to do with the kids.

I was alone last weekend with the three kids and I'm so happy how greatly we survived. Husband was visiting a friend. I don't even remember when we have been separated two nights with my husband, if hunting isn't counted. But usually I get help from my mum if husband is going for hunting but this time I tried to come along by myself. We spent lot of times outdoors and crafted some invitations to soon coming birthday party, which will also challenge my project with all the sweets and cakes.
